Skincare Sunday #5: Alpha-H Liqiud Gold

A multi-purpose product at its best. A microdermabrasion, a toner, a moisturizer, and an overnight treatment in a bottle. Meet Alpha-H Liqiud Gold, a glycolic acid treatment that will transform dull, coarse and aging skin in a matter of days!! Yes, days!!

Claims:

The combination of 5% Glycolic Acid and Licorice Extract resurfaces, brightens and improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, open pores and uneven skin tone. Alpha H Liquid Gold is recommended for mature, thickened, sun damaged skin or for any complexion that’s lost its vitality and youthful radiance. Simply apply to cleansed face, neck and décolletage 3 or 4 nights a week in place of your regular night treatment and allow Liquid Gold to work uninterrupted overnight. You’ll wake up with firmer, brighter, smoother skin!

Ingredients:

5% glycolic acid – exfoliates and brightens. Licorice extract – soothes, restores luminosity, reduces discolouration and pigmentation. Silk proteins – smoothing and firming.

How to use:

Three or four nights a week, apply Alpha H Liquid Gold using a cotton pad to cleansed face, neck and décolletage, avoiding the eye and lip areas. A slight tingling sensation may be experienced. For best results, do not follow with a night cream, but instead allow Liquid Gold to work “uninterrupted."

This product outperforms itself. It transforms my skin overnight, decongest my pores and make them more refined, radiant and firm. I use it around 2-3 times a week for the last 8 months. I have also noticed that my scars are lightening up too. It works by exfoliating and eating the dead skin cells on the skin surface. In return, new skin cells are pushed to the surface. The acid exfoliant lowered the pH of the skin causing the skin to 'work' and stimulate the skin from its relaxed lazy state. As a result, it will speed up skin cell renewal.

If you have seen my post on the Paula's Choice 10% Glycolic Acid Weekly Resurfacing Treatment here, the products are basically the same. The only difference I found is the percentage of Glycolic acid and the ingredients that they have.

I would recommend it for everyone regardless of age and skin problems. I think it's such a universal product that improves all types of skin and skin issues. You can purchase it online here.  I had this for nearly a year now and I cannot say enough good things about this product. I prefer chemical exfoliation to mechanical exfoliation i.e. scrubs because it's more gentle and it doesn't scratch the skin.

Do you use a chemical exfoliant in your skincare routine?
