The Tale of Loose Highlighters

Left: Catrice Loose Highlighting Powder | Right: Bourjois Rice Powder

Lately, some drugstore brands are coming up with a new form of highlighters that struck my fancy. The first one was from Bourjois limited edition anniversary collection. It is a Rice Powder which can be used to give a glow to the complexion. It is a beige tone highlighter. It is not as shimmery and it is a really subtle highlight that I think would also pass as an all over loose face powder. Packaging-wise; it can be safely  lugged in your makeup bag because it has a turn-lock that will secure the loose product in the container.

The next in line is the new, also limited edition loose highlighter from Catrice. This is a pink tone highlighter that is slightly out there and you are going to get a serious glow from this. I am so glad that I picked this up because it gives that pregnancy glow without being pregnant. The packaging isn't travel-appropriate but then again, who has time for applying highlighters while traveling?

Overall, I think highlighters are not something that we need a lot. Plus, I still do not quite grasp the concept of having a loose highlighters because they are not making things easier, so to speak. What do you think?
