Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock, Berry Bomb and Oh! Orange!

Lip balm lovers unite!! There is a new lip balm in town from the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop range. There is no such things as owning too many lip balms because they are always handy to have around and to apply. I love Maybelline Baby Lips because it is a great basic and hydrating coloured lip balms. They do not have a minty scent either which I personally hate in a lip balm and they rival some of the expensive ones too. Having tried their first Baby Lips and these new Electro Pop predecessor, I thought I would share my opinion on them; how different they are etc. This time around, Maybelline promises that these new Baby Lips Electro Pop have more punch and more pigmentation. Well, let's find out if it is true.

L-R: Berry Bomb, Pink Shock and Oh! Orange!
At first glance, what clearly occured to me is the original version of Baby Lips (U.S version) bears more product than the Electro Pop version. That aside, I did see adifference in the product itself. Certainly, the Electro Pop version has more 'pop' in their colour repertoire. Pink Shock has the most pigmentation while Berry Bomb and Oh! Orange! is sheerer pigmentation-wise. However, the pigmentation can easily be built. And I should add that the new Baby Lips Electro Pop do leave a beautiful stain behind after they wear off. It adds to the long lasting aspect of these lip balms compared to the original version (they don't stain the lips). On me, the Electro Pop verison lasts longer (around 2-3 hours) compared to the former. When first applied on the lips it gives a glossy and hydrated appearance to the lips with a pop of colour. I can see them as a great lipstick topper after you had a meal.

Berry Bomb looks dangerously dark purple in the tube, but on the lips it is a lovely sheer berry. I personally love this shade because it is not always often to see a berry toned lip balm. Pink Shock, on the other hand, is a beautiful fuchsia pink which again I love due to the unique shade for just being a lip balm. And Oh! Orange! is an understated and sheer peachy-corally nude on my lips. I believe that there are 3 shades are available in Malaysia and you can buy yours at Guardian or any supermarkets that carry Maybelline. It costs RM 14.90 each.

Overall, I think you can't go wrong with them. Yes, it is not a super amazing little product but everybody needs a lip balm in their life and these Maybelline Electro Pop Baby Lips fill that void with a burst of colours.

What colour(s) are you planning to get?
