Best Makeup of 2014

Get ready for some makeup porn because you are in for a good time. It is that time of the year where I looked back and gathered so many of my makeup favourites throughout the last year. The beauty industry has truly grown to be more spectacular and I simply cannot wait for what 2015 has to offer beauty wise. Blogging has also become a substantial part of my life in 2014 where I was most productive and I have seen how I improved over the years too. However, we are here for makeup, so let's do this!!
Best Primer: I have been really into priming my face in 2014 and the crown just have to go to my recent find, which is the Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel. It is the one primer that you need for just about everything.
Best Foundation(s): Matte and luminous have been my favourite adjectives to look out for in a foundation. And as I look back, there are two that stood out to me. The Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet and the By Terry Cover Expert.
Best Powder(s): There is one for each category. You all know that I have been loving Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder to set my base all through 2013 and I still am. However, 2014 has all been about the Chanel Poudre Universal Libre. It gives a veil of perfection and flawlessness on my skin. For finishing powder, I love my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. I swear that this powder makes my makeup look perfect on and off camera. Finally, I noticed that I have been into mineral makeup in 2014 and the Laura Mercier Mineral Powder takes the cake for being the best. Great coverage, finish and luminousity.
Best Blushes: There are loads. The Clinique Blush Pop Cheek Pop is the finest blush that has ever launched in 2014. Heck, I am even thinking to add another one to my collection. The finish is pearly on the cheeks which I simply adore. There is just nothing like it in the market. While we are on the subject, let's not forget the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush. I have mine in the shade Dim Infusion. It is the one blush that looks really subtle and beautiful on the skin. The shade and formulation makes it hard for you to go overboard with application. For drugstore blushes, there are two that I have been using and loving a lot in 2014. The first is Gosh Cosmetics Blush in Flower Power, a staple in my makeup bag. It is matte, neutral in tone, blendable, smooth in texture and long wearing too. Perfect for any occassion. For a flushed looking cheeks, I love the Essence Cake Pop That's Top blush from their Cookies and Cream collection. It makes me look younger and happier.
Best Cream Blushes: I have always loved cream blushes. And, I know it is hard to find one that ticks all the boxes. The NARS Matte Multiple in Laos wins for ticking all the boxes.
Best Highlighter: I know I have featured both my favourite from Catrice and Chanel in last year's makeup favourites. They still are, however, the newly released Chanel Camelia de Plumes wins this year's best highlighter. I love Chanel highlighter for being so flattering in tone, smooth in texture and consisently uniform is shimmer density.
Best Lipstick Formulation: You know what they are. They appear in almost every blog posts in 2014 and I am not stopping at buying it yet. They are the NARS Audacious Lipstsicks. Seriously amazing formula and wonderful colour selections.
Best Red Lipstick: 2014 has been the year wear I discovered the iconic beauty of red lipsticks. They are many beautiful reds that I discovered but these three are the ones that I reached for and loved most. The first being Chanel Rouge Allure in Palpitante; I am simply drawn to its strawberry red hue. The second is the orange red form the Guerlain Rouge G in Genna. Simply stunning and gorgeous. The next is another matte bright red number from Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Frambourjoise. A rather new discovery is the YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush in no.5.
Best Brow Products: For drawing in the brow hairs, I have been loving my Catrice Eyebrow Stylist in Date with Ashton for many many years. In 2014, however, the Gosh Cosmetics Eyebrow Kit is the one that has gone the extra mile for me. Three complementing eyebrow shades that comes with a brush. Fabolous drugstore eyebrow product. I highly recommend it. Last but not least, another brow product that I cannot live without is the Benefit Gimme Brow. Great for giving volume and hold to my eyebrows. My brows are never without it.
Best Lipstick Hybrid: New year, new makeup invention. 2014 has been all about them. Almost every brand is coming up with them. There are three that make the cut. The first are the Lancome Lip Lover. Wide range of colours, heavenly texture, long lasting stain and non-sticky. The contender; the Maybelline Lip Polish is just as good. It is a cult product with a reputation and credibilty to boot. They are seriously just as amazing as their high end counterparts. Another one is from the L'oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick. I love the texture and how moisturizing they are. The colours that they have are also great.
Best Eyeshadow Sticks: No eyeshadow palette this year that I particularly fallen in love with. I have not experimented with many of them per se. Eyeshadow sticks were the most dabbled in 2014 even up till yesterday. I must have loved applying my eyeshadows by co-operating eyeshadow sticks into it. The two that stood out to me are the By Terry Ombre Black Star and KiKo Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow. I could not fault them. Intense and even pigmentation, long lasting without smudging and tons of colours to choose from.
Best Lipgloss: I have not be so much into lipglosses in 2014. However, since the launch of YSL Gloss Volupte and NYX Butter Gloss, my lipgloss addiction has been sorted. I don't need anymore lipglosses because they are by far the best.
Best Sheer Lipsticks: While I love my YSL Rouge Volupte Shines so much forever and ever, this newcomer from Tom Ford Lip Color Shine in Ravenous is joining the champion seats for being the best sheer lipsticks in 2014. Saturated colour, not overly glossy, even pigmentation, made with high quality ingredients, and very long lasting and staining like my beloved YSL RVS makes it a winner for me.
Best Concealer(s): For covering blemishes, redness and imperfections, I would not doubt for a second that it is going to the one and only NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. They blend seamlessly without a trace, last for ages all while providing guaranteed coverage for your imperfections. For the undereye area, the By Terry Touche Veloutee rocks. I promise you that this sets to a powder and it does not crease under the eyes. The coverage is great too.
Best Eyeliner(s): I don't have to say it out loud but it us the Benefit They're Real Push Up Eyeliner. It is genius, so black, and it does not smudge or run into crevices of my lashlines. I am going to venture more into the world of eyeliners in 2015 and discover more amazing eyeliners. I have also been loving lining my lower inner lashlines with a nude eyeliner all through the second half of 2014. It is an extra step that makes all the difference to an eye look. Everybody should try it. I love my Gosh Pure Velvet Eyeliner in Pure Natural. This pencil has never left my makeup bag ever since. Another favourite of mine is from the Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer range. They are the ones with the twist up pen that are super pigmented and long lasting. They were and still are on every single makeup look I have done for the blog.

Woah, that was a lengthy one. Congratulations if you got this far!!
